About Me
By occupation, I am a retired Computer Scientist/Mathemetician who worked a 32-year career at an Engineering company, and now serve as an FTC robotics team (grades 6-12) software mentor. As many in my field are, I am often skeptical. But I don't think I'm a stick-in-the-mud curmudgeon. In fact, there have been times I have been embarrassingly gullible. By and large, however, I like to see evidence and I realize it takes meaningful (and sometimes difficult) conversations and/or study to overcome bias, see both sides of a matter, and arrive at a reasonably accurate view.
I also love science. And I love religion too (true religion) and see no conflict in these two loves. I believe the evidence is abundant that the universe is not a naturalistic accident. I believe the evidence is abundant that Jesus lived, was crucified, and rose from the dead leaving an empty tomb. Faith is not wishful thinking while closing your eyes to evidence, rather faith is based on evidence (though sometimes indirect and always falling short of complete proof).
